The Seeker Sustainability Project is our internal commitment to focus on protecting our planet. We aren’t perfect, but the goal of this project is to make continual progress towards a more sustainable future.

Climate Positive

Starting November 2021, Seek Discomfort became a Climate Positive company, thanks to our partnership with SeaTrees.

This means, not only are we offsetting 100% of our carbon emissions, but on top of that for every ton of carbon we offset, we will plant 4 mangrove trees and restore 1 sq ft of kelp.

Why plant trees in the sea? Because 'blue-carbon' coastal ecosystems - like mangrove forests - are 5-10x more effective than a rainforest at removing carbon from the air. It’s the most effective way to suck carbon out of the atmosphere.

To date, we have committed to planting 1,168 mangrove trees and restoring 292 sq feet of kelp forest.

Organic Materials

Our Seeker Essentials are made from 100% organic cotton, certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard - the world's leading standard for organic textiles. Using certified organic cotton means we use less water, less energy, and zero harmful chemicals or pesticides.

More specifically, companies that use organic cotton versus regular cotton consume 91% less water, 62% less energy, and their production results in 70% less acidification to the land and water (on average). Organic cotton saves roughly 600 gallons of water per item. That’s the amount of water one person should drink over a 2-3 year period.

Natural Dyes

Our garments are colored with 100% nontoxic dyes. This ensures that our clothing is not treated with bleach, formaldehyde, or any other harmful substance. In addition, our factory uses a water treatment facility to process any leftover water.

Packaging

Our packaging is made from 100% recycled material.

Made to Order

Once our clothing arrives at our warehouse, screen printing and embroidery is only added when an item is ordered. This eliminates any overproduction that would lead to clothing going to waste.

Carbon Neutral Shipments

Through our partnership with Cloverly, we are able calculate the amount of carbon that is produced when we ship an order from our warehouse to your doorstep.

From there, we purchases verified carbon offsets and renewable energy credits on your behalf to make every single shipment we send carbon neutral.
