YOU Did This

Yesterday was a special moment in time for us.

Seekers Day.

Over 130,000 of you visited the Seek Discomfort website in less than 12 hours.

Tens of thousands of you ordered your items.

Many of you for the first time.

These numbers are bigger than some of the most successful brands in the world.

All of our records were broken.

For a company that was launched two years ago, that’s beyond insane.

Halfway through the day yesterday, Ammar, Thomas and I sat down in the basement of the Yes House, held hands and just let all of this sink in.

We tell this story a lot but it’s true..We literally had $500 to our name when we first started filming together.

Money was never the objective.

Adventure, impact, personal growth, love and friendship were the priorities.

Yet now we find ourselves with a company that is growing faster than we could have ever imagined. And with that comes more responsibility than ever.

We feel a duty to uphold what Seek Discomfort stands, for as long as we live. We strongly believe that this brand can have as much impact as any organization that’s ever been created. With money comes a responsibility to reinvest in our community, our environment, to back people who are fighting for change, to support a better and brighter future for everyone. We are working to make Seek Discomfort carbon neutral as quickly as possible. We are building out a scholarship program for Seekers and are growing our list of sponsored Seekers, from athletes to artists. This year alone we have provided 250,000 meals to those in need and have raised over $40,000 for Black Lives Matter.

But this is only because of you. Because you trust us enough to put your hard earned money into what we’ve created. We don’t take your trust for granted.

In order to build out this dream, we’ve brought together a team led by our good friend and CEO of Seek Discomfort, Bryant Spunt. Bryan was previously the cofounder of PopSockets and is the founder of the Big Smiles Program, a charity that provides entertainment for children in hospitals. Bryan is building a team that is dedicated to making our impact more widespread by the day.

It’s only been two years, but can you imagine what can be accomplished in 10 years? Or in 20? The amount of dreams we can fund, lives we can change and the positive impact we can have on the world together, as a community, is truly mind blowing.

Ultimately this is a thank you. Thank you for your trust. Thank you for living out the Seek Discomfort philosophy in your own life. Thank you for making a few guys with a crazy dream feel heard and understood.

You are truly our greatest gift.

Love to all you Seekers today.

-Matt

PS - Seekers Day is live until August 1st at 10 am PST at www.seekdiscomfort.com, so if you haven't already, you can still join the party :)
